When the nights darken, make some classy seasonal jewellery. Halloween is huge these days, then there’s Christmas presents to make.
There’s so many beads suitable for this season: agate, calsilica, citrine, coral, flaked stones, jade, jasper, lava, lapis, malachite, rhodonite, and tiger eye. You can also combine amber and pearl with all types of brown, dark greens, gold, and misty yellow.
Orange and gold beads match autumn leaves – try combining carnelian with black beads like onyx. Enhance your imagination with a touch of gold. Mix contrasting colours like brown and gold with blues and green.
For Halloween, skull jewellery are popular with the young, who wear skull rings on their fingers and hang skull pendants on their phones.

Cambridge Bead Fair Report
As usual Cambridge was busy. With MrBead, Southampton Bead Shop, Healing Crystals, Nottingham Bead Shop & Spangles. Bit of a squeeze in the main hall, so two traders in the foyer. Next year we’ll return three times: Sun 9th March 2025, Sun 1st June and Sun 5th October.

It’s always good to leave the UK for better food, and Greece is no exception. We love seafood.
This time, just after the Cambridge Bead Fair, we drove 400-miles from Athens to the karst hills and 700-year-old monasteries of Meteora. Then back to Athens, via the Temple of Apollo in Delphi, for a ferry to Aegina Island.

Bead shows are great fun – you will love them! Bring a trolley, as beads get heavy. Take some cash, as a few venues have a weak signal for card payments. Talk to the vendors and other visitors to inspire new design ideas. Make a note of what you paid for beads, and keep exhibitors’ business cards and leaflets.
