Transition From Spring To Summer Jewellery

spring to summerThe transition from spring to summer is a celebration of nature. A time to play with colour and experiment with bold designs. This seasonal shift is the perfect opportunity to refresh your collection and welcome sun’s energy.

Spring To Summer BeadsAs the seasons change from soft blossoming hues of spring, to radiant sun-drenched tones of summer – jewellery also undergoes a transformation. This shift isn’t just about colour. It’s about mood, energy, and how jewellery complements the rhythms of the season.

Spring To Summer JewelleryDesigns tend to be more relaxed, free-spirited. Incorporating asymmetry, colour blocking and eclectic layers. Combine light spring necklaces with bold summer pendants to transition your look. Mix cool stones like amazonite, with warm ones like citrine for a seasonal vibe. Use beads that echo summer’s natural tones—ocean blues, sandy neutrals, and sunset oranges.

Transitional Trends: Bridging the Seasons
The shift from spring to summer is an ideal time to blend softness with vibrancy. Look for:

  • Gradient colour palettes—like a bracelet that fades from soft lilac to deep purple.
  • Combinations of matte and polished finishes, playing with texture as much as colour.
  • Natural motifs like sunbursts, leaves, or waves made from gemstone chips and mixed media.
  • Start with spring’s romantic palette and introduce bolder, warmer accents as temperatures rise.

Summer: Bold, Vibrant, and Radiant
As we move into summer, everything gets brighter and more expressive.

  • Vivid stones such as turquoise, carnelian, lapis lazuli, and sunstone.
  • Chunkier shapes and statement pieces, reflecting the confidence and energy of the season.
  • Boho and beachy styles, often featuring mixed materials like shell, wood, or metal spacers alongside semi precious gemstones.

Mr & Mrs Bead’s Malta Trip

Malta TripFirst time we flew from Norwich. Smallest airport we’ve ever been to. Malta was busy and very-British, with red pilled boxes & red phone boxes everywhere. Despite 50-years of independence.

However, a week was long, despite staying in four locations – including a night on Gozo, Malta’s little sister island. Where we hired a car, but not much to drive to!

We had loads of seafood, although didn’t taste as fresh as it looks in the pictures. However, it was sun everyday, and always good to get away.

Enjoy a Bead Fair Soon!

May Bead FairsBead shows are great fun – you will love them! Bring a trolley, as beads get heavy. Take some cash, as a few venues have a weak signal for card payments. Talk to the vendors and other visitors to inspire new design ideas. Make a note of what you paid for beads, and keep exhibitors’ business cards and leaflets.
