Alfriston is one of the UK’s most beautiful villages, picturesque and steeped in history, nestling in the South Downs Country Park. Between Brighton and Hastings, 1/2-hour from each. The following Sunday we’re at Cambridge Bead Fair, April 2nd.

I live in England in a beautiful historic city called Lincoln with my husband and cat. My job and passion is handcrafting findings.
I work in small batches using copper, sterling silver or gold-filled and offer something of a heavier weight and more creative design than something mass produced.
I work from my studio at home and often wake up and rush to my workshop to create an idea that I have dreamed up. Yes my best work is made while sporting my pyjamas, lol. Rachel Pugh

The Joys Of Semi Precious Beads
“Oh, the gleam of semi precious beads,
Delightful colours by which we’re pleased.
The shapes and sizes captivate,
A rainbow spectrum we appreciate.
Our outfits they do enhance,
Many hues, but not a chance,
That any two are the same –
That’s why we love their game.
In earrings, necklaces, and rings,
Semi precious beads add joy to all things.
Whichever way the light does fall,
It’s beauty that we recall.
Garnet, sapphire and onyx too,
Lovely semi-precious beads, what’s not to do?

Bead Fair Reports
London Gem n Bead Fair
As usual Kempton Park was heaving, although Sunday was a little quiet. With over 50 exhibitors, there’s a buzz about this largest Gem n Bead Fair. All done well, although not as good at the last show there last year.
We’ll be back at Kempton Park on 29th-30th July.
Norwich Bead Fair
Norwich is always busy, but this one has the record! We even sold more beads there in 6-hours than 12-hours at the London Gem n Bead Fair the previous weekend.
Many new faces, all keen to snap up our new beads – some from quite a distance away. We could just about keep up bagging orders, despite three of us selling. And visitors just love the free tea & coffee!

East Sussex Bead Fair
We’ve booked a new hall on Sunday 26th March in East Sussex, halfway between Brighton and Hastings.
At the beautiful village of Alfriston – one of the UK’s most beautiful villages said The Telegraph. Picturesque and steeped in history, nestling in the South Downs Country Park. Enjoy a Sunday out around the south coast.

2023 Bead Fairs
We’ve already booked a lot of shows, the next after East Sussex Bead Fair is Sunday 2nd April at Cambridge Bead Fair.
This year we’re doing less of the 3-day Gem n Bead Fairs, and more of our own single day shows. Most of our own shows are free entry & free refreshments. They’re also much more busy, giving visitors a buzz and chance to share ideas together! If you feel we’re not near you, let me know and I’ll consider your location.
