Rainflower Viewing Stone Beads

Rainflower BeadsOriental viewing stone is rock carved to look like a mountain or scenic landscape – to conceive a feeling of being at the place. Rainflower viewing stone beads are popular because they create a harmonious feeling and every one looks different.

Rainflower BeadsRainflower is stone formed along the banks of China’s Yangtze River over millions of years. Jade, chalcedony, jasper and minerals in the rock create colours and patterns, looking like flowers in the rain with rich glittering colours.

Rainflower BeadsRainflower viewing stone is said to bring harmony, and is helpful to romantic relationships. Balancing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes.

Newton Abbot Gem n Bead fair REPORT

Newton Abbot Gem n Bead Fair 2022Semi Precious BeadsEvery year Newton Abbot is getting less visitors and it’s 6-hours from Norwich. However, a few regulars supported us and it’s fun in Devon. We keep saying this is our last show there, but we haven’t decided yet for 2023.

We love the firework atmosphere in Teignmouth on the Saturday evening. Then on our return, we stayed in Bath overnight – £18 clean air fee & £16.50 parking.

Christmas Is a Good Time To Start Making Jewellery

Make Money Selling Your Own JewelleryAmazingly, a few newsletters readers don’t make jewellery! What do they do in the evenings? Watch TV and worry about paying bills?

If you’re short at the end of the month, top up your cash selling custom jewellery. It’s great fun and very rewarding.

Jewellery NicheDiscipline is essential, so make a plan. Decide what type of jewellery you’d like to make. Choose a niche in the market: something you like making. Like speciality earrings or themed brackets. Join a beading group to learn and for inspiration.

1. SearchResearch your market. What others are selling on and off line? Are they busy? What do they charge? Don’t try to sell what’s not popular! Look into your typical customer: do they buy on or off line? Do they use social media?

2. Decide how you prefer to sell: online or offline? Etsy or craft fairs? Own website (needs a lot of marketing) or rent a display cabinet in a shop?

3. FacebookMarketing is VERY important, and you need to stand out from competitors. Give buyers a reason to choose you, other than undercutting price. Spend about 10% of sales on advertising. Facebook is good. If you can sell on Facebook from a post – make more of the same and boost the listing. Research to save money, by limiting the advert to your target audience.

4. Online platforms and rent is expensive: ensure you can sell at a price to make a good profit. Be bold, but realistic, with prices. If the figures don’t work: try a different way.

5. Value TimeValue your time. Don’t work under minimum wage for a business, rather than a hobby.  It’s laborious designing, buying stock, making and selling jewellery. Allow extra time to start, but aim to make profit right away. Start small and build as you earn more. That way you can’t loose much on mistakes!

6. Presentation is everything – perceive your jewellery to look stylish and expensive. Use attractive boxes or pouches. Keep everything looking new and fresh.

7. Jewellery Sales UpIf something doesn’t sell after a reasonable time: change it. Keep experimenting, keep trying. If you find a winner: repeat it and expand its outlets.

8. Finally, buy a recently-published book or two on how to sell jewellery and crafts. There’s a lot to learn, so give yourself a head start. Lots of Amazon.
