After the show, we’re taking a few days off around Mid-Wales – we can’t work 7-day weeks all month! So online orders from Sat 21st to Wed 25th will be delayed.

Beads Up North With Craft & Lace
If you live north of Northampton, treat yourself this weekend to the popular longstanding bead fair – now with lace and everything for other crafters.
Many exhibitors in two halls, plus refreshments. Beautiful venue at Haydock Racecourse, close to J23 of the M6, and about 20-miles from Manchester or Liverpool. This Sunday 10am to 4pm.

It’s not all about buying! The show also has free beading workshops where anyone can learn to bead and make a fantastic Jubilee bracelet and pendant. Then you can relax, chat in our food hall, and show your creations off!
It’s not all about beads either. The show also caters for lace makers and other crafts. Lace making is a dying art that some of our exhibitors are reviving.
It’s a great day out for all the family. We find children are increasingly becoming interested in beading – and at Beads Up North, under 16s enter free! Adults are just £5 and over 60s £3.

Report On Luton & Essex Bead Fairs
Luton Bead Fair
We always have many visitors to Luton who nip up the M1 from North London, just 1/2-hour – and the venue is 5-minutes from M1 J10. The show was booming as usual with queues outside the door and one buyer who especially flew in from Ireland just for beads! We’ll be back in Luton later in the year.
Essex Bead Fair
We love working in this hall – so easy to setup, pleasant people, a beautiful village, and it’s always sunny! Not as busy as Luton, but a steady footfall. There’s always a few ‘characters’ at this fair, like the chap in the kilt who came from two-hours away in Kent!
CHAIN JEWELLERY
What Is Chain Jewellery?
Chain jewellery isn’t new, but the trend’s increasing. It’s very much in fashion now with many models wearing the style.
Chain adds a new dimension to your designs. It’s versatile: available in any length, with many thickness, shapes and materials.
Chain can be used on its own, creating a classic look to add attention to a pendant – or they can be decorated with small beads and findings for more effect.
Chunky chain creates a statement in itself. Bold and punkish. While tiny delicate chain is more subtle, for a lighter, elegant, graceful design.
Types Of Chain
• Trace Chain – has small oval links creating a minimalist chin that won’t distract to your jewellery design. One of the most popular and versatile styles.
• Belcher Chain – similar to trace, but with wider and thicker links. For a bolder effect.
• Bead Chain – as the name implies: this is chain with tiny beads already attached. Ready-made for an elegant stylish design.
• Figaro Chain – has flattened rings, with 3 shorter links separated by a longer link.
