Making jewellery makes you feel good, is profitable, and a lot of fun! You can work from home and choose the hours.
Earrings are among the easiest pieces of jewellery to make for a beginner. Everyone loves an original pair. All you need are:
- Head Pins
- Single Beads
- Jump Ring
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Wire Cutters
Some say earrings are the most important piece of jewellery – because they’re the first to be noticed meeting a lady. They strand out and showcase a face, making an instant first impression. They should express the wearer’s personality.
Earrings are fashionable right now, and create a mood like no other jewellery. They’re also fun to design – think themes or individual designs that are different. Big and bold is today’s style.
Although they can be simple buttons fitted close to the ear, or large long dangles framing half the face. Expensive statement earrings grab attention, while lower-priced designs make great add-on purchases. Combine as sets with necklaces and bracelets to make more money.
Usually earrings are one-size-fits-all, so there is a lot of sales potential. If you don’t want to shape wire for individual designs, use ready made ear wires, hooks and other earring findings.

Norwich Bead Fair Report
Norwich is always busy, and this one didn’t disappoint. The hall is small, but because visitors arrive at different time, everyone fitted in fine. The only complaint was that we have too big a choice – making it difficult to work out what not to buy! Although we can’t get to China yet – we’ve been ordering new beads online.
Lorraine from The Bead Queen enjoyed herself, with lots of guests admiring her original designs.
We’re back in Norwich Sunday 23rd October. If you live away, enjoy a weekend in the fine city – great for early Christmas shopping and exploring the Norfolk Broads and the coast. Premier Inn and Travel Lodge have some great out-of-season offers.
Norwich has a wealth of culture, unusual in the UK outside London. The most complete medieval city in the country with a castle, two cathedrals, and cobbled streets.
Northern Bead Fairs
After shows all over Southern England, we’re heading north. Many beaders up there are feeling left out. We love it ‘up north’: everyone’s so friendly, it’s like going back in time! If you live in the midlands or further up, take this opportunity to enjoy a bead fair and stock up with the latest beads.
In August we’re at Newcastle, Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Harrogate. Then on Sunday 2nd October at Beads Up North, Haydock Racecourse (between Liverpool & Manchester).
If we’re too far east for you this month, we’ll be in Cheshire Bead Fair, Nantwich on 18th September & Beads Up North at Haydock Park 2nd October.
