Chinese Year Of The RabbitHappy Year of the Rabbit 2023

Year of the Rabbit 2023MrBead is based in Hong Kong, although orders are mailed from Norwich in the UK. The new Year of the Rabbit starts 22nd Jan 2023. A gentle and sober year, bringing peace & success.

Everyone should balance their life, heal wounds and plan. Each animal in the Chinese zodiac is divided into elements with slightly different characteristics – this Yin Year is a Black Water Rabbit.

Predictions For The Year of the Rabbit 2023Predictions For This Year of The Rabbit
Rabbits represent longevity, peace & prosperity – enhanced this year by the soothing flow of water element. Nevertheless, the last Black Water Rabbit Year was 1963, so expect similar, like change of leaders’. Water Rabbits are gentle, easy going, but have weak mindset.

2023 could bring intellectual challenge, but hard work and self-discipline will be rewarded by prosperity and advancement. Stay focused. Rabbits reward risk – so good to start new ventures or have children. Creative business will prosper, as will gardening and decorating. Leisure will be valued more, and all communication enhanced.

International RabbitsInternationally, the rabbit’s yin water element brings fluidity and calm. However, there could be peaceful protests for change in society. Along with disasters like earthquakes, volcanic and flooding. Although the trend is towards calm, an assault to distract from domestic problems is possible.

If You’re a Rabbit
RabbitRabbits are quick, vigilant, witty, polite, cautious, quiet, analytical, sexy, responsible and ingenious. This will not be an easy year for you, so avoid rash decisions and face challenges head on. There may be career change, but you could be in for a financial windfall. However, save, and invest wisely.

Best partners are goat, dog or pig – least harmonious with rat, rooster or tiger. Best jobs: gardener, teacher, breeder, musician, artist, police or architect.

What Shape Bead?

Beads By ShapeStones can be carved into any shape to make your design interesting. Beads are three-dimensional: so round or oval can also be flat or puff.  Pillow can be rectangle or square, and nugget can be almost any shape not uniform, sometimes called freeform.

Shaped BeadsRound is the most popular bead – next is rondelle, a flattened ball shape. However, there are many other forms beads are available in.

  • Heishi beads are small discs, think of a sliced tube. Because they are usually narrow, there’s a lot in a string of beads. Heishi means ‘shell’ to North American Indians.
  • Barrell Beads are popular. The Chinese believe the shape represents life to be smooth sailing, free of obstacles.
  • Teardrop or briolettes are a classic shape, pleasing to the eye. Ideal for making earrings, same for tube beads.
  • Some versatile shapes have universal uses like button, coin, cube, square, pillow and rectangle. Others like flower and heat beads give a feminine slant to your jewellery.
  • For dramatic or unusual jewellery try icicle, frame or donut beads – these make your designs stand out. For bold styles use chunky nuggets.
