Making Winter Jewellery
Embrace the cozy vibes and let the beauty of winter inspire your jewellery-making.
1. Choose Your Beads Wisely
Select beads with the enchanting hues of winter – think cool blues, deep greens, and frosty whites. Gemstones like labradorite, blue lace agate, and snow quartz. For our winter white beads click: White Beads.
2. Create a Theme
Channel the winter wonderland into your designs. Consider snowflakes, icicles, or nature-inspired motifs to infuse a touch of seasonal magic.
3. Combine Textures
Mix different bead shapes and sizes to add visual interest. Pair smooth round beads with faceted ones for a dynamic and textured look resembling glistening snow. To select beads by shape, click Choose Beads By Shape.
4. Incorporate Metal Accents
Introduce metallic elements like silver or gold beads to emulate the sparkle of frost or the warmth of holiday lights. For our metal spacer beads click Findings.
5. Experiment with Patterns & Layers
Play around with patterns for unique designs. Create symmetrical arrangements or go for asymmetry to capture the spontaneity of snowfall. Design pieces that can be layered for a trendy winter look. Mix and match bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.
6. Add Personal Touches
Consider incorporating charms or pendants that hold sentimental value. Like winter-themed symbols or initials, adding a personal touch. For our charms click Charm Beads.
7. Explore Different Techniques
Experiment with techniques like stringing, wire wrapping, or bead weaving to bring your vision to life. Whether you’re a seasoned beader or a beginner, there’s various techniques to explore. Embrace the art of bead crafting. Let your imagination run wild and create stunning and personalized jewellery.
8. Gifts from the Heart
Create bespoke winter jewellery for loved ones. Handcrafted pieces carry a unique charm and make for heartfelt gifts. For our heart shaped beads, click Heart Beads.
Icicle Beads
Icicles are hot! They’re great for winter jewellery and if you want your designs to stand out, use icicle beads to make dramatic jewellery.

Harrogate Gem n Bead Fair Report
We all love Harrogate, and we always stay a few extra days in North Yorkshire after the show. This February’s Gem n Bead Fair their was good, with lots of sales on the first day, helped by no snow this year.
However, most of Sunday we spent a lot of time reading and chatting to other exhibitors because of few visitors. Always a problem with Gem n Bead Fairs, that would be better held over just a single day. See us back in August.
Pictures show some of MrBead’s new beads, just imported into the UK last week. See more online – click New Beads.

Mr & Mrs Bead’s US Trip
Sometimes we work over 14-days, 10-hours a day – when there’s bead fairs each weekend. So we need a break! We’ve been meaning to go to the States for years – now MiMi has a British passport, it’s easy.
Three-nights in New York, 3-nights with our friends Bill & Dolly in St Petersburg, Florida, and 3-nights in the Everglades & Key Largo.
Didn’t visit any bead shops, but we were blown away with the American highways – felt dangerous driving in the UK on return! Had some fantastic BBQs in Florida.
